If there is indeed a heaven on earth, I have visited it. This is a place of such elegant simplicity – where the world’s best luxury meets the sweet familiarity of home. This haven of peace, great food and wine, sweet scents and incredible people is set atop a high mountain with views across three valleys. The pool is incredible and seems to be wrapped on one end by a Balinese pagoda transformed into its own oasis. A table to seat as many as is needed in the outdoor kitchen and cooking barefoot high on the hillside with the Italian breezes blowing, is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Villa Vergaia is the definition of lovely: It sits peacefully at the top of a hill with sweeping views, Luberon-like light in August, amidst olive orchards and vineyards. The restored farmhouse is a delight, but the piece de resistance is the pergola and pool. It will surpass your dreams. Cappuccinos in the mornings as we lay on the terrace chaises facing Migliano were a close second. And if you are serious about hills and cycling, it is the perfect launch pad for wonderful day bike trips.

During our visit to the villa we received a five star experience in a wonderfully secluded rural setting. I was overcome with a calming sense of relaxation as we wound our way up the curvy road that reveals this magnificent 400 year old structure. Our days at the villa were filled with lounging by the pool, sunbathing at the beach cabana, and relaxing on the chaises on the lawn. Meals were fresh and flavorful with local ingredients and vegetables from the property garden. And the evenings were filled with surround sound music by the pool, fresh cocktails made with local fruit, and lots of dancing. If over-indulgence is a crime, then call me a repeat-offender, because I'm definitely going again!

One the most relaxing and memorable vacations I have ever had. The panoramic views are breathtaking and we had a blast exploring surrounding towns and hitting the beach. But it's the house that impressed me most. It has rustic, old-fashioned charm with all the conveniences of a five-star hotel. Huge wooden tables that bring together family and friends. Antique beds. Paths winding through wild flower gardens and plush olive groves. WiFi, flatscreen TV, Bali-styled pool. A wonderful balance that I never knew existed!

During our last visit to the villa, as we sat enjoying a glass of wine with our feet dangling in the infinity pool, with the beauty of the olive orchard falling off to the left and the sun ripened grapes hanging from the rolling acres of vines on the right and entire valley floor below us, we seriously considered calling our travel agent and canceling our reservation home (permanently!)...it is that kind of experience.

Every moment at Villa Vergaia felt like a treat, from the minute I awoke, gazing out the window at the lovely Tuscan hills nearby, to the lazy afternoon hours spent reading by the pool, to the intimate dinners outdoors, imbibing in wine and feasting on fresh produce from the villa's garden. It was obvious that the villa's owner had attended to every detail of the home, always maintaining the highest standards. I'd strongly recommend a trip to Villa Vergaia. My stay was truly luxurious and certainly proved to be the highlight of my summer.

Sonja's villa in Italy is a combination of a true organic Tuscan living - from smelling the flowers from the garden when you wake up to running to the wine cellar for that last bottle of wine (produced by the farm) before calling it a night. The comfort of the villa amenities really allows you and your guest to let go. The detail in ever aspect of this villa from the amazing pool to the outdoor living space is what brings together an amazing experience. It has all the amenities and luxury of any posh hotel you have ever stayed in plus the feeling of comfort in your own home.
